When you are planning to visit Dubai, choosing the right Dubai tour package is a task that may cause some headache. There are hundreds of tour packages offered, and you have to do more than just compare the prices.
The best Dubai tour package must fit your budget, planned dates, preferred sights, accommodation, transportation, and even your travel style.
Whether you are visiting Dubai for the first time, travelling with family, on a romantic holiday, or having an exclusive experience, it will make your life easier and will help you to save money and time.
But how can you find out which tour package is worth booking?
This Tourstarz guide will explain what features you need to compare while choosing your Dubai tour package.
What is a Dubai tour package?
A Dubai tour package is a combination of different travel services offered for your vacation in Dubai.
It can contain such services as
- Hotel accommodation
- Airport transfer
- Dubai city tours
- Desert safari
- Burj Khalifa tickets
- Dubai Marina experience
- Airport pickup/drop-off
- Meals
- Transportation
- Guide services
However, it does not mean that all of the above services are included in every Dubai tour package, which is why it is necessary to read the whole itinerary carefully before booking it.
How to Choose the Best Dubai Tour Package?
The best Dubai tour package is not always the most expensive.
It is better to choose the right combination of price, included services, flexibility, and experience.
Here are the most important things that you should pay attention to.
1. Define Your Dubai Holiday Budget
First, you have to define your budget for your Dubai holiday.
Dubai offers many opportunities at all levels, from budget options to luxurious experiences.
Budget Dubai Tours
The main characteristics of such tours are:
- Inexpensive hotels
- Shared transportation
- Basic sightseeing and tours
- Selected sights
Mid-Range Dubai Tours
They may include:
- Better hotels
- More sights
- Comfortable transportation
- Additional activities
- Luxury Dubai Tours
The features of luxury tour packages can be
Top-class hotels
- Private transportation
- Private tours
- Fine dining and other VIP services
- Premium desert safaris
Before starting to compare the prices of different tour packages, define which one is suitable for your budget.
2. Check What is Included
It is one of the most essential things to check prior to booking.
Even two Dubai tour packages that cost about the same might include different things.
Search for:
Accommodation: Which hotel is included?
Transport: airport transfers?
Tours: which sightseeing is included?
Tickets: admission tickets?
Meals: how many?
Transfers: private or shared?
Never take anything for granted by seeing it in the name of the package.
3. Choose Your Hotel Carefully
The hotel can greatly affect your Dubai experience.
Take into account:
- Hotel star rating
- Location
- Room type
- Breakfast
- Swimming pool
- Nearest metro station
- Distance from popular places
- Cancellation policy
Popular Tourist Districts
Downtown Dubai—great if you wish to see the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall.
Dubai Marina—a good choice for the beach, restaurants, and water experience.
Deira—often suits those looking for an old-style Dubai.
Bur Dubai—convenient to see Old Dubai and culture.
Remember, choosing a hotel only by the number of stars can be misleading.
4. Check the Length of the Package
Dubai tour packages can differ in length significantly.
A 3-day Dubai package would suit people who have not much time.
5–7 days will allow seeing many attractions comfortably.
If you plan to visit:
- Desert safari
- Burj Khalifa
- Dubai Mall
- Dubai Frame
- Palm Jumeirah
- Abu Dhabi day trip
- Theme parks
then you will need more days.
5. Look at the Included Attractions
Consider what you would like to see before deciding on which package to choose.
For instance, first-timers may choose the following:
- Burj Khalifa
- Dubai Mall
- Dubai Marina
- Palm Jumeirah
- Desert Safari
- Dubai Frame
Families may like:
- Aquaventure Waterpark
- IMG Worlds of Adventure
- Dubai Parks and Resorts
- Dubai Aquarium
Couples may like:
- Marina cruises
- Desert experiences
- Luxury dining
- Sunset experiences
Choose the package considering your preferences instead of picking one just because it has the most attractions in it.
6. Compare Private and Shared Tours
Transport plays an important role in tours.
Shared Tour
A shared tour is usually a good choice for those who do not want to spend too much.
Advantages:
- Cheaper
- Organized itinerary
- An opportunity to meet other tourists
Private Tour
A private tour gives more flexibility.
Advantages:
- Customized itinerary
- Private transport
- Flexible stops
- Privacy
Even though a private package will probably cost more, it may be worth its price for families, couples, or groups of friends. Then
7. Think About Airport Transfer
Airport transfer may help you feel much better after landing in Dubai.
Before purchasing a package, find out if it includes:
- Pick-up at the airport
- Drop-off at the airport
- Private transfer
- Shared transfer
- Transport between hotels and tourist attractions
A package with airport transfer may often turn out to be cheaper than a separate booking.
8. Check the itinerary of Dubai tour packages.
A professional itinerary should describe the program for each day of the tour.
For example:
1: Arrival at the airport and hotel check-in
2: Tour of Dubai City
3: Desert safari
4: Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai
5: Optional activities or a free day
6: Shopping and leisure
7: Airport transfer
Itineraries should be realistic.
In order to show how great the package is, some itineraries may promise visits to ten attractions a day. It may be cool, but probably too exhausting.
9. Read the Cancellation Policy
When you pay for the package, read the conditions for cancellation and refunds.
Check:
- Cancellation deadline
- Refund percentage
- Date-change terms
- Services that are non-refundable
- Hotel policy on cancellation
Unexpected events may happen during your travels, so be flexible.
10. Calculate the Total Cost
Do not compare packages according to their headline prices.
Calculate the total cost of the package.
Take into account:
Package price + attraction tickets + meals + transfers + other services + taxes/fees
Sometimes, a bit more expensive package may offer a better deal because it is richer in services.
Best Dubai Tour Package for Family
For families, consider tour packages that offer family-friendly hotels and attractions.
You may opt for packages including:
- Aquaventure Waterpark
- Dubai Aquarium
- Dubai Mall
- Desert safari
- Dubai Frame
Check whether the hotel provides family or connecting rooms.
Best Dubai Tour Package for Couples
The package, which will suit couples well, should have such services as
- Romantic dinner
- Marina cruise
- Desert safari
- Luxury hotels
- Private transfer
- Sunset experience
A private package may work out great for couples.
Best Dubai Tour Package for First-Time Visitors
If this is the first trip to Dubai for you, consider tour packages, which will allow you to see all the main places.
A balanced package may include:
- Burj Khalifa
- Dubai Mall
- Dubai Marina
- Palm Jumeirah
- Desert Safari
- Dubai Frame
- Old Dubai
It is a good combination of modern attractions and traditional cultural sites.
Common Mistakes While Booking Dubai Packages
- Choosing Only According to Price
- The most expensive package may lack some necessary services.
- Ignoring Hotel Location
- You may spend a lot of time traveling to attractions if your cheap hotel is far from them.
- Not Taking Attraction Tickets into Account
- Sometimes packages mention attractions but do not include tickets for them.
- Overloading Your Schedule
- Having too many activities may cause you stress during the trip.
- Ignoring Cancellation Terms
